The question was does the Healthway Plainsman 175 take the 8gr.co2 cartridges and can you buy them.My answer was yes they do take the 8gr units and yes you can buy them, which is correct. The Healthways did not take the 12gr.units they used the 8gr.units.Healthway was purchased by Marksman in the early 1980's and produced the same pistol that used the larger 12gr.co2 units,these gun's are Marksman Plainsman gun's NOT Healthway Plainsman gun's which the question was about. As i said i believe some one made an adapter to allow the use of the larger co2 units for the Healthway gun's which used the 8 gr. Units.Your suggestion should work.PS: the Heathway gun's are marked as such on the side of the gun, and the Marksman manuf.

No need to shout.Maybe some one did exactly what you said and put the larger unit on the BASIC, new pistol.Non the less there are exceptions to every thing.Maybe a little more research will solve the question.PS: Healthway's were manuf. In Compton.CA and the Marksman in Huntington Beach,CA.
