Place the mix in the reservoir and allow the iron to heat up for steam until the reservoir is empty. Then do a second round with plain distilled water. Clean the the iron plate of residue after it cools.
If the vinegar mix does not work (and you can do the mix a few times) try using a product such as 'Lime Away' or 'CLR' to dissolve the deposits. Hope this helps. Posted on Jul 12, 2009. Probably needs decalcifying. If the iron has a steam boost button then fill it with water, turn it on and wait for it to heat up, hold it over the kitchen sink and repeatedly press the steam boost button. This may clear any blockages. If that does not work then you can purchase a cleaning solution from a hardware store that is used to decalcify the iron.
You fill the tank with the solution and let it pass through the iron to remove calcium deposits. Instructions will be provided with the solution.

SELF CLEANINGIt is important to “Self Clean” the iron at least every two weeksto remove scale, calcium, etc. The harder the water, the more often the iron should be self cleaned.1. Set the variable steam control dial to any steam position.2.
Fill the water tank up to the “MAX” level.3. Stand the iron on its heel. Plug the iron into the electrical outlet.4.Press the electronic temperature control button until you get the “MAX” temperature setting on the display panel and wait until the iron heats up and temperature setting light stops flashing.5. Turn the variable steam control dial all the way to the right to the self-cleaning position and hold the iron horizontally over the sink (Fig. Boiling water and steam will now be ejected from the holes in the soleplate. The impurities and scale are washed away with it. Move the iron back and forth as this happens.8.

If there is any water left in the water tank after the iron stops steaming, just empty the remaining water in a sink following the instructions for emptying the iron. 9.Turn the variable steam control dial to the “0” position when the water tank is empty.10.Place the iron back upright on its heel to cool down before storing. You need to make sure both ends (by the T-nozzle and by the body of the steamer) are secure. You have to align the nozzle with the rod, and push down, and twist. Try watching instructions for connecting both ends on www.HandBookLive.com under appliances category. There are GS4 video instructions and GS10 (this one has just been posted yesterday) hoe it helps.

Otherwise I would return the steamer. Nowhere in the operating instructions does it say that you can control the amount of stream produced. Laura Sep 27, 2008. Is a long story but i make short.Don`t be afraid to leave your iron on.Is common to water tank iron to get working in more then 5-10 minutes. That machine are really safe since they do have more then 1 thermostat to control the water pressure. How they work is pretty easy. The boil the water to a certan temperature and you know after certan F. The water become steam generatin pressure and steam. The thermostat control the heater and the electroswitch release the steam If your in not making any steam after 5-10 minutes make sure you hear the electroswitch working.Sometimes they get cloght and even if the boil is under the pressure you can not get any steam at all Good Luck Jun 10, 2008.
