Using Programming Codes Step Find the TV code for your TV in the list from the Platinum Remote Control User's Guide (See References). For example, if you have a Kenwood TV, the three possible codes to try are 506, 573 and 712. Step Press the 'TV' button on the remote.

Hold down the button until the 'Sat,' 'VCR' and 'Aux' buttons light up. Release the 'TV' button and it will be flashing. Step Enter the first code using the keypad. If you want the remote to control all functions on the TV, enter the code and press the # key. The 'TV' button will flash three times.
