I chose this monitor over its predecessor models and competitors like Asus and Lenovo because 1. Graphics is powered through HDMI.

Thus no driver is needed. Asus and Lenovo models requires graphic driver to be installed and there are issues with drivers. Powered by USB cable so no DC outlet is needed 3. Includes a case that double as a stand 4.

On screen menu to adjust color, saturation, etc 5. 1920 x 1080 HD resolution.

My other choice was the GeChic 2501B but its resolution only goes up to 1366x768. Screen looks very nice when it's plugged in on my macbook.

Same size as a macbook pro 15 model. Fits in my backpack perfectly and does not add to much weight.

After 2 days of use, the only con I found is 1. The white bezel around the screen is made up of cheap plastic that can be easily scratched while taking the monitor in and out of its cover/stand. For two days of use, black scuff marks have appeared on the white bezel. I tried to clean it with wet cloth but the black scuff marks remain. I have a feeling that after prolong use, the black scuff marks will accrue and the monitor will lose its nice looks and appeal.

I wish GeChic will have a black bezel version. Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Excellent Portable Monitor Worked perfectly well, out of the box, with bright crisp resolution and vivid colors. Consumes little power is light and portable.

I really like the rugged case it comes with and it's very thin profile. Using the screen at full resolution is a little difficult, because everything is so small, but that is to be expected. The 1080p resolution matches my projector, which is important to me. I am using this monitor with a small portable computer, an alternative to a laptop.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Emilian from This is NOT a USB monitor I bought this item expecting the USB-connectivity advertised. As it turns out, the only thing the USB port is used for, is power. You can't drive this via USB, you need to connect it via DP or HDMI or VGA. The supplied adapter is an HDMI to mini-HDMI. Construction seems ok, very light.

I can't tell how good the color reproduction is, as I don't have an HDMI output on my computer to test it with and I'm not interested in driving it via a regular video signal. This fact alone certainly makes it attractive as a portable monitor. Add that to the fact that the monitor itself is very thin and you've got quite the winning combo. I purchased this monitor for use with a Surface Pro to allow me additional room for work related activities (Visio, Excel, Word, Visual Studio, General Email/Web Browsing). I think one of the greatest productivity boosters for me is having the ability to utilize multiple monitors and this fits the bill nicely. I had to get an Minidisplay port to HDMI adapter for about 10 bucks.

The monitor sprung to life quickly once connected and powered up by the single USB 3.0 connection from the Surface Pro. The controls on the monitor are fairly easy to understand and for the most part work well. There are absolutely no lags on this screen and I've had no issues with it.The color rendition on the monitor is absolutely stunnnig and I'm so glad for this purchase. This unit matches color on my MS Surface Book very well. It does use USB connection for power and it comes with a small 120 vac adapter (cable included).

The unit is very light weight and comes with a shell that swaps from the front to the back. A nice feature to protect the screen. I use it with HDMI (cable included). The jacks for power and video are at the top left and you do get some velcro strips to tie the cords down.

I will be making a frame out of aluminium stock mounted to a piece of 1/4 inch plywood that I can slide the monitor down and have it secure. I will also have a support on the mount for the cables to prevent any bending force on the jacks. I will post pictures later.
